First few days of using LR 9.5 and Citrix

I still haven't been able to use the Citrix agent. I have had some problems getting LoadRunner to load the VB6 application that I am recording against. It manages to log in to the Windows box, but when the app loads, it gives a VB error and exits out. I am not sure what is going on. The good thing is that so far support has been responsive and I am supposed to have a webex this afternoon with the "Citrix expert."

I have found a couple of interesting facts about 9.5 and Citrix. The first is that you still have to download a patch from the support site to run any Citrix client 10.0 and above. There is no mention of this in the documentation. I just know this from previous experience. The patch is actually just a registry entry for the Citrix client. I would have hoped by now that LR install documentation would mention this or that Citrix would have fixed this by now since they are supposed to be partners.

The second thing that I have noticed (which I would consider a big problem) is that LoadRunner may not support XenApp client 11.0 (see attached doc to see which environments are supported.) When I entered my service request the first response included a chart indicating what they do or do not support (this chart was no where to be found in the LR documentation by the way.) The LR docs say that Citrix client 10.0 and up is supported. One would assume that would include version 11. If you go to the Citrix download site, nothing other than 11 is available for download, so I would think that they would have to support it. We will see what the support engineer says this afternoon.
